Why does my AI give bland answers?

Almost always a vague prompt. Give it a role, the audience, the tone, the format, and the one goal — and the output sharpens immediately. 'Write marketing' is the prompt equivalent of staring at a blank page.

What is 'few-shot' prompting?

Showing the AI a couple of examples of what you want before asking it to produce one. One or two good samples teach the pattern far better than a paragraph of description — it's the difference between 'draw me a house' and a photo of the house you want.

Will better prompts stop it from making things up?

Largely — add 'use only the information I gave you' and 'say you don't know if you're not sure.' Hallucinations thrive on vague, open-ended prompts with no constraints. Tighten the rails and the confident nonsense drops sharply.

AI Prompting

The gap between 'AI is useless' and 'AI is my best employee' is almost always the prompt. The same tool, asked well, gives you a workable draft in minutes; asked vaguely, gives you generic mush you have to rewrite. Here's how to ask well — no engineering degree required.
